I am a psychoanalyst working in the Lacanian orientation with adults.
I work near Sloane Square in London on Tuesdays, Saturdays and early mornings.
I offer appointments in English and French, once or several times a week for open-ended psychoanalysis, and once a week for time-limited psychoanalytic treatment.
You are welcome to contact me to speak confidentially about anything that you feel you need at this point in your life. It could be difficulties in your everyday life or with others. It could be thoughts, feelings or sensations that are too much, or a lack of desire or enjoyment in life. It could also be a question about yourself, which you wish to explore in a non-judgemental space.
Why psychoanalysis?
Psychoanalysis is a place of listening, free from judgement and preconceptions, where you are welcome as you are. Psychoanalysis does not provide ready-made solutions. It is a space where you and I can both listen to you, and patiently help you invent new ways of being in the world, with others, and with yourself.
What distinguishes psychoanalysis from other talking practices is its attention to what it calls the unconscious, which is what in our inner life escapes our knowledge and understanding.
What is the Lacanian orientation?
The 20th century psychiatrist and psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan shone light on how psychoanalysis and talking therapies operate, and he formulated ethical coordinates for psychoanalysis.
In practice, I will take a position of learner who is taught by you. Sessions will have a variable duration that depends on what you say in each session, up to thirty minutes in general. Several shorter sessions are favoured over a single longer session. The Lacanian session could be called an "endless session."
Who am I?
I am a member of the London Society of the New Lacanian School and am on the UKCP registered training of the Guild of Psychotherapists in London. I abide by the UCKP Code of Ethics and Professional Practice, and the UKCP Complaints and Conduct Process.
I am an honorary psychotherapist at the reduced-fee clinic of the Guild of Psychotherapists, and I attend clinical presentations at the psychiatric hospital of Ville-Evrard in France.
I hold an MA in Cultural Studies and an MSc in Engineering. In the past, I worked with LGBTQ+ adults at METRO's mental health drop-in, and I worked with small children at Bubble & Speak.
